Transfer: Jack Wilshere gives verdict on Arteta forcing striker out of Arsenal

Former Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere has insisted that manager, Mikel Arteta was ‘right’ to force former striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of the club.
In 2022, Arteta stamped his authority at the Emirates and kicked former captain Aubameyang out of the first-team following a series of disciplinary problems.
The Gabonese went on to leave Arsenal to join Barcelona midway through the season.

However, Wilshere believes Arteta dealt with the issue perfectly.
“The Aubameyang thing, he [Arteta] understood that that is probably the best thing for the team and he is going to go with it,” Wilshere told William Hill’s Up Front with Simon Jordan podcast.
Asked whether Arteta was right to axe Aubameyang, Wilshere added: “He was right, yeah.”
Aubameyang currently plays for French Ligue 1, Marseille.
